What NURS 836 covers
The course reads Brownson, Colditz and Proctor's Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health. Each forum thread cites two peer-reviewed references besides the textbook, and each of two replies cites two references, one of which may be the textbook and one of which must be peer reviewed.
The expanded literature review refines the NURS 716 PICO question and adds three articles; the content outline and the eight-to-ten page draft dissemination and implementation plan each require twelve to fifteen references besides the textbook and the Bible. A scholarly project pre-approval form is also submitted in Module/Week 8.
This course is designed to support an understanding of concepts in knowledge translation (KT), methods, and models for evaluation of research, and findings to translate knowledge into best practice protocols. A translational model is used to support knowledge translation from scholarly evidence that will influence outcomes. The steps in the research process are examined to support a comprehensive plan in preparation for the scholarly project. The content includes the development of a research question, identifying an appropriate sample, identifying appropriate strategies for data collection and analysis, and emphasizing the importance of the protection of human subjects. The course provides the students with a foundation for developing a scholarly proposal.

Where NURS 836 papers lose points
Work in NURS 836 loses points when a framework is named but not applied to the project, when implementation strategies are listed without matching them to barriers, when dissemination means only a poster, and when the plan's measures cannot tell whether the practice was adopted, delivered as intended and sustained.
Using a NURS 836 sample well
Read each sample for how one evidence-based practice is carried from a literature review to a plan another team could carry out. Your own topic will differ; the samples show the structure, sources and level of planning each assignment calls for.
